Summer Work Experience Scheme

At Holmes & Hills, we are committed to supporting the next generation of legal professionals. Our Work Experience Scheme is designed for individuals aspiring to become future Trainee Solicitors.

We are delighted to offer Law students the opportunity to undertake a week-long placement (unpaid) across our offices in Marks Tey, Witham and Braintree. This programme provides a unique insight into life within a professional legal environment and offers invaluable experience for your future career.

This work experience will take place between the Monday 10th until Friday 14th August 2026.

The scheme is structured to give you a comprehensive overview of working at a leading East Anglian Law Firm. During your placement, you will have the opportunity to rotate through a range of legal departments, shadowing current trainees and gaining exposure to Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives, and Partners. You will also complete a variety of practical tasks designed to reflect the work of a Trainee Solicitor, helping you to develop key skills and deepen your understanding of the profession.

Who we are looking for:

Students currently studying for an LLB (Law Degree)
Individuals in their first or second year of university
Availability to commit to one week of work experience on the specified dates
A genuine interest in gaining practical experience within the legal sector
Ambition to secure a Training Contract upon successful completion of your degree within a Regional Law firm.
